Guus Beumer wins Cultural Entrepeneur Prize Maastricht
Guus Beumer, director of Marres, has won the Cultural Entrepeneur Prize Maastricht (COP). He received this prize from former theater director Jacques Giesen, who was awarded with the first COP in 2006. Giesen decided to forward the prize to Guus Beumer, because he definately meets the profile of a cultural entrepeneur. In the words of Jacques Giesen: "Guus Beumer is not only a succesful manager, who knows how to act in difficult situations, but he is also a cultural entrepeneur with a strong social complicity. He connects a sense of reality and economical thinking to engagement, which he wishes to see reflected in visual arts and design, without losing quality. He has turned Marres and NAI Maastricht into top institutes with a (inter)national importance".

Neumann & Luz
To intensify our international communication and public relations, Marres has started a new cooperation with Neumann Luz Communication, Cologne/Berlin. The agency is specialized in culture and art communication, from PR to marketing, and belongs to the leading agencies in the German speaking countries.
The core team consists of five persons who have experience with clients like Venice Biennial, Skulptur Projekte Münster/Grand Tour, Art Cologne, Frieze Art Fair, Quadriennale Düsseldorf, BMW, Museum Ludwig Cologne or Museum Kunst Palast in Düsseldorf. For more information see www.neumann-luz.de.
Marres is pleased with this partnership and strives to develop innovative and creative communication strategies with Neumann & Luz in order to make the special position of Marres and her more anthropological approach better accessible for specific audiences.
