Guus Beumer wins Cultural Entrepeneur Prize Maastricht

Guus Beumer, director of Marres, has won the Cutural Entrepeneur Prize Maastricht (COP). He received this prize from former theater director Jacques Giesen, who was awarded with the first COP in 2006. Giesen decided to forward the prize to Guus Beumer, because he definiteley meets the profile of a cultural entrepeneur. In the words of Jacques Giesen: "Guus Beumer is not only a succesful manager, who knows how to act in difficult situations, but he is also a cultural entrepeneur with a strong social complicity. He connects a sense of reality and economical thinking to engagement, which he wishes to see reflected in visual arts and design, without losing quality. He has turned Marres and NAI Maastricht into top institutes with a (inter)national importance".
