Garden Intervention

23 october 2010 – 15 may 2011

Artist: Frank Bruggeman

Several years ago, Marres started to transform the garden using only ecological methods; a project led by gardener Hans Engelbrecht that resulted in a unique city garden. Today, this garden includes a herb garden, a vegetable garden, a toad pool and a flower meadow, and has become a popular part of a visit to Marres.

Recently, Frank Bruggeman was asked for a contribution to this public garden. Several containers - in ‘Bruggeman-blue’ - have been placed in the garden, each with its own plantation scheme, to evoke a contrast between the artificial suggestion of nature by Bruggeman and the ecological garden.

A glimpse of the dynamics within a collecting art institute
Consumerist excess and the fiction of economic speculation
Create or destroy
Health as common good and social capital
How to deal with this new reality?
is the idea of a school still grounded in the locality of a physical environment?
The ultimate symbol of godlessness
Trust me - I'm a designer
We'll be rich tonight!
Without a palace of glass, life is a burden
