Emma Kay reconstructs the knowledge she gathered in the course of her life from memory. This way she tries to get a grip on the world, history and art history, while at the same time creating a form of self portraits. 

This is Emma Kay's first solopresentation in the Netherlands. She made 'The Story of Art' in 2003 as a project of Tate Modern, London, and she furthermore presented her work in UCLAHammer Museum, Los Angeles (2001), de Sydney Biennale (2002) and The Power Plant, Toronto (2004). Emma Kay (London, 1961) studied at Goldsmiths College and works/lives in London. There she is represented by The Approach and in Barcelona by Galeria Toni Tàpies.
