Publication Dreaming Awake

Publication at exhibition Dreaming Awake

In the spring of 2018 Marres will present the exhibition Dreaming Awake, a layered version of a tropical rainforest in the Amazon. It is an exhibition about the touch, with the emphasis on the touch of man through his environment. Clammy, moist, sticky, deafening and breathtaking, the jungle is the most invasive form in which a landscape imposes itself on us. If you are in it you can not escape. The pressure of the environment is so powerful and hypnotic that it brings visitors into a dream state. The immersive project was developed by Brazilian curator Luiza Mello and director of Marres Valentijn Byvanck in collaboration with artists Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané and Luiz Zerbini. The publication Dreaming Awake is edited by Luiza Mello, João Doria and Valentijn Byvanck, designed by João Doria and published by Automatica and Marres. The book is for sale in the online store of Marres and at the reception, for an amount of 19.90 euro. The book contains 8 postcards with images from the Dreaming Awake exhibition at Marres.
